Magic in the Desert

Winter in the desert.

This year the sky opened up and the rain quenched an ancient thirst.

Snow blanketed mountains: Santa Rosas, San Jacinto, and San Gorgonio.

Rainbow after rainbow stretched across the sky.

Waterfalls rushing down the rock faces, smoothing their surfaces.

The desert is preparing for Spring. Yerba Santa scented washes. Desert Lavender, Creosote, Desert Tobacco, Globe Mallow. Yucca blossoms.

All I can smell is the magic of the desert.
